Listed below are a few different accreditation agencies and some brief information about each.

American Association of Christian Schools

Association of Christian Schools International






· Founded in 1978, ACSI is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has 28 regional offices in North America and around the globe (10 in the United States and 18 internationally). More than 23,000 schools from 100 countries are members.




·        120 member Christian colleges and universities



·        Over 20,000 member schools (preschool to grade 12) internationally

·        3,000 member schools (preschool to grade 12) in the United States

· In 2002, ACSI merged with AdvancED.  This provided schools wanting to obtain both accreditation to complete one accreditation process and receive both endorsements. Before this time, schools wanting both ACSI and AdvancED accreditations had to complete  two separated accreditation processes.

Duel accreditations with ACSI and AdvancED is still possible.

· ACSI reviews it's accreditation process and standards every five to seven years. The new version of ACSI accreditation, Reach 2.0

has several changes. Some of these are ......

o2.4 Constituents and stakeholders are provided appropriate input by leadership in the decision-making process, a practice that promotes culture of participation, responsibility, transparency and ownership.

o 2.9 A financial review is conducted by an external CPS who has no vested interest in the school at the time of initial accreditation and renewal. The annual statement of financial practice is submitted with the annual accreditation reports.

o5.2 The curriculum guide/plan is based on Biblical truth, sound educational practices, and appropriate school selected Standards that inform the instructional program of the whole child-spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially.

o5.7 The school analyzes student performance data including ..

§ Implications of schoolwide trends seen from year to year.
§ Monitoring the progress of individual students.
§ Disaggregation of data by gender, ethnicity and other factors important to the school and comparison to comparable outside groups.
An ongoing planning process is collaborative and it includes opportunities for input from all stakeholders.
